Stunning three hundred year old Shakyamuni Buddha, the Historical
Buddha Gautama,
Gautama Buddha gestures with the classic Bhumisparsa mudra (Goma-in in
Japan, Chundhi in China),
the 'touching of the earth.' This pose reveals Buddha under the tree of
Enlightenment, taking
the Earth as his witness. He had solved the problem of the cessation of
suffering as he sat under the buddi tree at Bodh-Gaya. This
is a very old, perfectly preserved temple Buddha.
